Peter T. Dameris
Peter T. Dameris joined On Assignment, Inc. in November 2003 as President and CEO. Prior to On Assignment, Mr. Dameris served as Executive VP and CEO of Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), providing succession planning for their CEO position as well as establishing corporate operating initiatives. Previously he had a successful tenure as Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Metamor Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMWW), an international IT consulting company, overseeing the management and strategy of their $800 million business. He also served in executive capacities for Xpedior, Xuma, Inc., U.S. Concrete Inc., Bindview Development Corp., Signal Tree Solutions, and Decan Groupe.
Arshad Matin, President and CEO
Mr. Arshad Matin joined Seismic Micro-Technology in June of 2007 where he is President, CEO, and board member. He is responsible for the strategy development, operations planning, and recruitment/development of world-class talent for SMT. Under his leadership, the company has enjoyed unprecedented growth in revenues and profits. He has led SMT's expansion in new geographies and market segments which has allowed the company to become the global leader in G&G software market.
Before joining SMT, Mr. Matin was General Manager of the Compliance and Security Management business unit at Symantec Corporation which he joined in January 2006 through the company's acquisition of BindView Corporation. At BindView, Mr. Matin was president and COO, directly overseeing products, sales, marketing, corporate development and services functions. He led the successful turn-around at BindView which established the company as the leader in IT policy compliance.
Prior to BindView, Mr. Matin was a partner at the Houston office of McKinsey & Company where he served clients in both high tech and energy industries. He started his career as software developer for Oregon-based Mentor Graphics Corporation.
Mr. Matin earned his MBA from the Wharton School, MS in computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and BE in electrical engineering from Regional Engineering College in India. Mr. Matin, his wife and three daughters are residents of Houston.
Jake Reynolds
Jake joined TCV in 1997 and has been in the venture capital industry since 1993. Jake's primary investment focus is in the software, eCommerce and business services industries. He has been involved with TCV investments in Altiris (acquired by Symantec), BenefitMall (acquired by Allied Capital), Brightmail (acquired by Symantec), Capella Education, Clareon (acquired by BancBoston), Ejasent (acquired by Veritas), eLoyalty, ExlService, Global 360, GMI, Homegain (acquired by Classified Ventures), Intraware, Solarc, Solect Technology Group (acquired by Amdocs), TechTarget, Webroot, XACCT Technologies (acquired by Amdocs), and YouCentric (acquired by JD Edwards).
J. Brad Sharp
Brad Sharp leads EnoVenture bringing over twenty five years of experience in successfully building global commercial software, services and consulting organizations. Mr. Sharp was a co-founder of Sterling Commerce successfully taking the company public in 1996 and is a recognized leader and visionary in the e-Business sector. While at Sterling Commerce, Mr. Sharp progressively assumed additional responsibility culminating in his position as President and CEO. Under his leadership the company grew through a balanced strategy of internal growth and acquisitions to just under $700M in revenues with a 30% operating margin and transformed itself into the largest EC business in the world. Mr. Sharp's leadership was responsible for the successful sale of Sterling Commerce, in what was one of the largest software deals in history.
Mr. Sharp has extensive experience in all facets of running a successful business on a global scale. He has represented Sterling Commerce's interest on a worldwide basis at financial conferences, industry trade shows, analyst briefings, press tours and to Wall Street. Prior to Sterling Commerce, Mr. Sharp was President of the EDI Software Division for Sterling Software growing the business at a 50% compounded annual growth rate. Mr. Sharp has extensive experience in evaluating, acquiring and integrating companies. Since leaving Sterling Commerce in 2001 Mr. Sharp has focused on performing business assessments, business strategy development, acquisition analysis and operational planning for private equity owners and technology companies. His range of experience has worked well with start-up companies and large companies both inside and out of the technology sector.
Robert F. Smith
Mr. Smith joined JMI in 2000 and is based in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Smith is currently a Director of AirClic, Inc., Appriss, Inc., Compusearch Software Systems, Inc., Gemcom Software, Inc., QuIC Financial Technologies, Inc. and Seismic Micro-Technology, Inc. Mr. Smith's past JMI investment experience includes Applimation, Inc., Astrum Software Corporation and ServiceBench, Inc. Mr. Smith also serves on the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA).
Prior to joining the Firm in 2000, Mr. Smith was a Principal at ABS Capital Partners and a Vice President in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Alex. Brown. Prior to Alex. Brown, Mr. Smith served as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Smith graduated from the United States Naval Academy and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Tom Smith
Tom Smith founded Seismic Micro-Technology (SMT) in 1984 and grew the company with his wife, Evonne. He started his professional career with Chevron (1971-1981). In the 1980's in addition to starting SMT, he taught short courses in seismic acquisition, data processing and seismic evaluation of reservoirs through Oil & Gas Consultants International (now Petroskills, 1984-1998) and provided consultation services to a number of companies (1981-1996).
His academic credentials include Ph.D. in geophysics from the University of Houston (1981), M.S. in Geology with geophysics Thesis (1971) and B.S. (1968), both awarded by Iowa State University (ISU). His technical expertise is in joint interpretation of geophysical and geological data, seismic attributes, seismic wave propagation and imaging, sedimentation and facies analysis, structural geology, time series analysis and Vertical Seismic Profiling. He has been involved in business, research & development, training and software design & development. His interest and enthusiasm remain high in each area.
He has been recognized by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) with the Enterprise Award (2000), Houston Geological Society (HGS) Corporate Star Award (2005), ISU Citation of Merit Award for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS, 2002), ISU Distinguished Alumnus Lecturer Award for Geology (1996), Man of The Year Award and Outstanding Alumnus of Kappa Sigma of Ames (2002), Sigma Xi, Sigma Gamma Epsilon and now serves on the ISU LAS Dean's Advisory Council.
His professional affiliations include SEG, AAPG, EAGE, AGU, SSA, SIPES, HGS and GSH.
David Yuan
David joined TCV in 2005 and has been in the venture capital industry since 2000. David has over ten years of experience in technology focused private equity, entrepreneurship, and strategic consulting.
Prior to TCV, David worked as a Senior Associate at JPMorgan Partners, a $6B private equity fund, where he focused on enterprise software and Internet investments. Before JPMP, David was one of the first employees and director of business development and ad sales at 1stUp, an Internet Service Provider which was successfully sold to CMGi. David started his career in the San Francisco office for Bain & Company where he advised technology and private equity clients. David has also served as an advisor or consultant to VMware, Gluecode, SAP, KongZhong, SixApart, and Chipshot.com.
David received an A.B. in economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. David currently serves on the board of Seismic Micro-Technology.
