The KINGDOM Software - ModPAK
Forward Geologic Modeling of the Seismic Response
|
In the absence of direct velocity control, TKS - ModPAK can automatically convert resistivity or density logs to velocity. For simpler models, blocks can be defined with a constant velocity and density. The time-depth function at each well is interpolated to convert the depth section to time before convolution. Modeled traces are calculated using a theoretical or an extracted wavelet.
Benefits
- Maximize seismic data
- Increase predictive accuracy
- Reduce risk
- Simplify testing and sharing of ideas
- Improve productivity and workflow
Key Features
- ModPAK is part of SMT’s integrated KINGDOM® family of products
- Interpret surfaces from formation tops or correlate on-the-fly
- Incorporate depth data including grids and fault cuts
- Distribute log-based geophysical properties for vertical and deviated boreholes
- Model faults, channels, pinchouts and facies changes
- Model onlaps, angular unconformities and reservoir fluid changes
- Seismic wavelets can be user defined or derived from the seismic data
- Automatically convert resistivity or density to velocity where a sonic log is unavailable
- Overlay real seismic data on the generated traces for comparison
- Save the generated seismic traces as a new 2D survey in the project for
comparison with seismic data
