In a recent benchmarking test KINGDOM Advanced improved horizon interpretation time by a factor of 6 to 18x! That’s because our patent-pending Illuminator technology allows for faster, more accurate auto picks - resulting in a 94% reduction in total time spent on horizon picking. Here are some actual benchmarking results. Results will vary in different environments, based on structural complexity and quality of data

Scenario 1 – Salt Dome: KINGDOM Advanced picked horizons 18x faster

• Data Analyzed: 81 sq mi block, courtesy of Fairfield, consisting of 17 faults and good quality data.
• Baseline Interpretation: Using traditional methods, five horizons were picked, on every 10th line, taking a total of 9 man hours
• K Advanced Interpretation: Running the new auto-picker algorithms this interpretation was completed in just 30 minutes. Accuracy was >85%.

Scenario 2 – Heavy Faulting: KINGDOM Advanced picked horizons 6x faster

• Data Analyzed: 35 sq mi block, courtesy of Fairfield, consisting of 60 faults and good quality data.
• Baseline Interpretation: Using traditional methods, five horizons were picked, on every 10th line, taking a total of 5.5 man hours
• K Advanced Interpretation: Running the new auto-picker algorithms this interpretation was completed in 56 minutes. Accuracy was >98%.

HOTFIX 1 for KINGDOM 8.4 and OpenKINGDOM 8.4

Hotfix 1 for Version 8.4 is now available. This Hotfix contains a number of fixes identified since the June 2009.

KINGDOM Updates:

This Hotfix resolves a contour memory leak, time slice display issues and performance issues. Also included are fixes for KINGDOM Advanced, 2d/3dPAK, EarthPAK, AVOPAK, SynPAK and LogPAK.

OpenKINGDOM Updates:

This Hotfix resolves a permissions issue when launching the SMT Update Manager from OpenKINGDOM Domain. The fastest and easiest method to obtain the Hotfix is to download it from SMT web site via your "My Account".

How to Download the Hotfix from SMT’s Web Site

1. Login to My Account http://mya.seismicmicro.com
2. Click on Downloads link and select Software Updates
3. Click on the 8.4 Hotfix 1 update, browse to the download location on your computer or network and download the updated files.
4. Unzip or extract the files with a zip file utility such as WinZip or Windows’ Extraction Wizard. The folder will contain 2 files: *rtp and * tag. Both files must stay in the same folder. When you apply the update you will need to specify the location.

Share Surveys between Projects to Centralize Seismic Data and Minimize the Usage of Diskspace

You can share both 2D and 3D seismic surveys from KINGDOM project to KINGDOM project. By using the survey share function, users can take advantage of centralizing and managing seismic data in a master project. Doing so minimizes the usage of diskspace significantly by reducing duplicate seismic data.

Open the satellite project (the shared-to project), select the Survey -> Survey share/copy feature, and browse to the master project (the shared-from project) to complete the sharing. Please note that two projects must have the same coordinate system. The following figures show the sharing relationship in master project and satellite project. You can update the sharing from the satellite project if you must relocate the master at any time.
